Amaury Nolasco Chats Armored & The Rum Diary

iphotos208588-Amaury-Nolasco.jpgWith his role as Fernando Sucre in the TV series “Prison Break” finally behind him, Amaury Nolasco continues to develop his film career!

His latest is an action movie “Armored,” which stars Matt Dillon and Laurence Fishburne. In the film, Nolasco plays Palmer, an armored truck security guard caught up in a $42-million heist with his coworkers.

During a phone interview with EXTRA, Nolasco talked about his role in the film and also his role in the upcoming movie, The Rum Diary:

On his character in Armored:
What drew me was how dark he is. He doesn’t say much, but his presence is there. He’s a guy that has had his encounters with the law and has spent his time in jail. He came out and found God and religion, but somehow finds himself with this proposition to steal $42 million and get away with it. It’s a dog-eat-dog movie where you see a lot of backstabbing and people picking sides.

On being sensitive:
That’s a very good question. What am I sensitive about? I love kids – especially kids with disabilities. I haven’t had a chance to explore a role where I can show my sensitive side. Right now I am getting these manly roles, and you take those until other opportunities come up. Hopefully soon I can show a different range. I actually just finished a movie [“The Rum Diary”] with Johnny Depp. It’s a completely different movie [from what] I’m used to.

On his character in The Rum Diary:
I play a guy named Segurra. He’s a suck-up who has money and is basically a shark. He’s one of those guys you don’t want next to you because he’ll suck your blood out.

Prison Break #1 Decade’s Best Show

415_goingunder_wall.jpgSure, it’s only the Northern Illinois University who is giving the honors, but you know, I have to agree with them!

They put together a list of the decade’s top television shows, and Prison Break landed top honors for the “one hour picks”

1. “Prison Break” (2005-2009): Going to prison so you can break out your brother sounds like a ridiculous plot, but it wasn’t. The show was good from the first breakout to when brothers Michael Scofield, played by Wentworth Miller and Lincoln Burrows, played by Dominic Purcell, are free for once and for all. Like “Heroes,” “Prison Break” lost a lot fans early on because viewers couldn’t grasp the idea of a show with people being on the run from the law for four seasons. The combo of good acting and writing made it flow and those who broke away from the show missed out on one hell of a roller coaster ride.

Marshall Allman Joins ‘True Blood’

iphotos125576-Marshall-Allman.jpgMarshall Allman (LJ Burrows) has joined the cast of True Blood.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Marshall has landed a regular role on Alan Ball’s series, playing Sam Merlotte’s long-lost younger brother who works at a tyre depot in Arkansas.

Recently, actor Sam Trammell confirmed to DS that his character Sam Merlotte would be emabrking on a mission to find his real family in season three.

I imagine – and I’m pretty sure – he’s going to try to find his real biological parents,” he said. “He’s probably had a desire to see them, unconsciously, for a while, then there was that whole episode where he was with the kids and he realised that one of the kids – Cody – had never actually seen his father.

And another Prison Breal alum, Shannon Lucio, (The GATE receptionist who turned out to be an undercover Fed), has been cast as Bill’s wife, Caroline, to whom he never returned after becoming a vamp during the Civil War.

Congrats to Marshall and Shannon!

Muse Watson Stars in ‘The Story of Bonnie and Clyde’

Muse Watson (Westmoreland) stars as Mr. Pritchard in the upcoming film, The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.

According to the MySpace page, Bonnie Parker (played by Hilary Duff) wanted something different…something exciting. Clyde Barrow (Kevin Zegers) wanted to be remembered. When their worlds collided, the rest became history.

In a small Texas town in the 1930’s Depression, Bonnie Parker had dreams of becoming an actress or perhaps a poet. She knew more than anything that she wanted out – out of poverty, away from Texas, and she wanted a love story that would never end.

Clyde Barrow grew up poor. He loved guns, cars, and getting noticed. It was his love for the finer things that would cost him his freedom. It is his loss of freedom that changes the boy to a man, and a man into a killer.

The Story of Bonnie and Clyde begins with a love that cannot be broken, but Clyde’s love of money and excitement and his fear of returning to the Texas prison system leads them both into a world of violence.

The story unravels, revealing a love story that has surpassed the decades. Every moment leads the couple into a web of no return, which will leave the audience breathless.

This is a new account of the lives of the infamous Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. This telling will uncover times in their lives that have never been seen on the big screen before.

What began as a beautiful love story, ends as one of the most remembered ambushes in history. This film will take you into the life and times of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. This is The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.
